Our Bass Coast 2024 Agenda

By: Erin Holdbeck

We’re officially a week out from the gates opening for Bass Coast 2024. This is my third year attending the festival, and while it’s easy to get fully immersed in the artist line-up, there’s so much more to Bass Coast than just the music. This year I’ve made a full plan of the music acts, visual artists, workshops, and activities to make the most of this one-of-a-kind festival.

Friday, July 12th

Immersion: Sound, Mind, Body - 4:00pm @ Slowtempo

Going too hard your first day of a festival is faux pas numero uno. Instead, ease into Friday with this 90-minute immersive sensory experience featuring yoga, music, and meditation. Don’t worry if you miss out on this one, there’s a full line-up of yoga and movement workshops at Slowtempo all weekend.

Drill Showcase - 5:30pm @ Slay Bay

Still can’t resist the urge? Head over to Slay Bay post-yoga for a showcase featuring the DJ’s responsible for some of the best DIY events in Vancouver. Sure to fulfill your daily recommended dose of bass and techno.

Check out some Art Installations

Take a break to familiarize yourself with the grounds and the many interactive art installations. ZanyZone is “an interactive booth, a playground for the senses, blending vibrant visuals, enchanting sounds, exotic smells, and tactile wonders,” which is one installation I can’t wait to check out.

Saturday, July 13th

Relax in the Coldwater River

Chill out (literally) in the river to start the morning off fresh. Be mindful that this is a critical salmon spawning ground, so please don’t use soap or sunscreen in the river or move the stones, as it is harmful to the natural environment.

Workshops @ The Brain

Workshops run all weekend and range in topics including harm reduction, music production, Boogie Bingo and much more. There’s truly something for everyone. Just don’t forget to get there early to secure your spot!

Sunday, July 14th

Massage @ The Spa

Relax and revive your dancing muscles with a full-body massage. Check out the full range of Spa services and don’t forget to book early as these spots fill up fast!

The Funk Hunters - 1:00am @ MainStage

An absolute MUST for old and new attendees alike. The Funk Hunters have been a staple at international festivals for over two decades, but home on the West Coast is where they truly shine puttting on one of the best shows of the weekend year after year. The perfect way to cap off Bass Coast 2024!

Bonus: Thursday, July 11th

Sam Binga - 9:30pm @ The Cantina

Getting in early? Head over to The Cantina for a little pre-party headlined UK-based DJ and producer, Sam Binga. Just don’t stay up too late! Check out full schedule and start the party with a little mix from Sam Binga and fellow-Bass Coast 2024 performer, Bianca Oblivian, from their The Lot Radio show. See you on the dancefloor!
