FVDED in the Park returned this year, bigger and better than ever, once again transforming Surrey's Holland Park with two packed days of music, sunshine, and unforgettable energy. With 50,000 festival goers in attendance, it's clear that this is still Vancouver's most impactful  electronic music festival.

Originally a hip-hop festival, FVDED has successfully transitioned to an EDM-focused event, resulting in significant changes. The festival showcased a diverse lineup, ensuring there was something for everyone. One of the highlights of FVDED this year (and in 2024) was the thoughtful curation of various genres and stages, allowing attendees to discover new sounds and catch their favorite artists.

This year, a new side stage called “Propagate” was introduced, designed with art car inspirations and featured a beautifully crafted truck, adorned with vibrant flowers. The main stages, such as the Pacific Stage, Northwest Tent, and Forest Stage, remained this year. A big shout out to the IT and production teams who upgraded sound quality and improved cell service–it made finding friends much easier this time around!

Day 1 Highlights

The highlight of Day 1 was the performances by Tiesto and Kaytranada, who both brought incredible energy to the Pacific Stage. A special shoutout to Kaytranada for representing Canada!

Although there were a few technical hiccups earlier in the day, the crew quickly resolved them, and everything was running smoothly by the time Sammy Virji took the stage with his signature UKG sound.

Over at the Northwest Tent, Sabai's set was a beautiful moment. His blend of melodic bass had the whole crowd singing in unison, especially when he picked up his guitar for his single "Million Days." This was a moment of pure magic! Who knew Sabai could sing as well? When he performed his unreleased song, "Fuck It, I’m Alright," you could truly feel the authentic connection he creates with an audience.

Catching Rudimental and BTSM back-to-back was the perfect way to end the night. I got my fix of high-energy drum and bass deep in the forest, then took a quick walk over to the Northwest Tent to close things out with a heavy-hitting set from the Canadian bass legends, BTSM.

Day 2 Highlights

Walking into the festival on Day 2, I immediately felt the crowd’s energy. It was also great to see the staff handing out liquid IVs to keep everyone hydrated in the heat.

One of the most talked-about performances of the weekend was by Subtronics. He absolutely crushed it on the main stage, and if you weren't already a bass head, you probably are now! His visuals, energy, and transitions were unforgettable. He infused some of his old favourites like "Scream Saver," the new track "Lock In" with Wooli, and the unreleased track "Scratchy Itchy Brain Riddim" The crowd was fully locked in—headbanging, dancing, and losing it with every drop.

Zedd closed out the Pacific Stage with a nostalgic set that transported the audience back to the golden days of early 2000s EDM. Ending Day 2 with "Clarity" was incredible, as the crowd sang along, creating a captivating atmosphere filled with nostalgia.

If you ventured over to the forest stage, Of The Trees took us on an experimental bass journey interwoven with old-school dubstep. With the trees lit up as a backdrop and the crowd's energy, it was the perfect way to end the weekend.

There were so many others worth shouting out, but your girl can only be at so many stages at once with a STACKED schedule like that. So many conflicts, but we make it work and we have fun!

FVDED in the Park 2025 - over and out; you did it again. Until next year, I can't wait to see what 2026 has in the works!
