Gnash - "we" Album Release and Touring North America

Los Angeles based singer/songwriter, DJ and record producer, gnash, has released his debut album entitled “we”, and announced a much anticipated tour in North America to coincide with the album release. The singer will be playing sizeable venues to over a thousand fans at venues like Irving Plaza and El Rey Theater on this leg of his tour, with shows filling up quickly and tickets going fast.

His new album is on track to follow the success of his 4x platinum and Billboard chart topping breakthrough hit "i hate u, i love u" featuring Olivia O'Brien. The songs have a personal touch to them, making you feel as if you're sitting in the room with him as he records each melody. The acoustic touch on this album gives the R&B singer a new dimension to his music, and it is evident as to why this album has been much anticipated by his fans around the glove! Gnash didn't disappoint with his sound and the consistency of his music. The acoustic, bedroom-pop vibe from his previous EP "us" flows into this new album, complimenting the popular R&B/rap genre. Gnash has curated the ideal mixture of musical genres to grow his name as a musician - and he is successfully doing just that.

The new album accentuates gnash’s acceleration in production. The album’s vocal section is clear above the instrumental. Although you can distinctly hear every lyric, the instruments used aren’t being lost in the production due to the heavy vocals. In fact the contrast of the vocal above the instrumental contributes to the overall togetherness of the album. Even the drum tracks included slip into the song so carelessly that it feels natural to the album, every song rhythmically dances into one another as if they were made to do so.

Overall, my favourite song off this album is “t-shirt,” a single released before the album dropped. The catchy lyrics of this song have been stuck in my head since it's release. The way this song starts off with a calming sound while carrying it into the upbeat, fast-moving chorus’ is an example of how unique Gnash is with his production and instrumental. I can tell now that this song will be a fan favourite from the popularity it has already gained. The lyrics stick with you, giving you a nostalgic high school romance feel that can make the crowd he attracts quote the lyrics, get them tattooed, and have the words resonate with them. I can’t wait to see the live performance to experience how gnash will produce this song live, from the lights to the overall vibe of the concert.

Gnash’s album kicked off 2019 in a positive way. This debut album will be a new step in gnash’s career and I can only see the singer gaining more and more of a following as this album spends weeks out in the market. Gnash has found the perfect formula to create music that is distinctive. Be sure to check out gnash's tour dates below and I hope to see you at a show!
