Joyce Manor stormed through Vancouver recently for a night that will surely be remembered by fans for years to come. Opening bands Combat, Teen Mortgage and Militarie Gun energized the crowd on a Monday evening at Commodore Ballroom with a mix of hard hitting punk songs. After a half hour of stage hands racing to set up guitars and keyboards, The band graced the Vancouver stage for the first time since 2014 and immediately launched into the opening track “I Know Where Mark Chen Lives” from their latest release, I Used To Go To This Bar.
The show paced along with tracks “Falling In Love Again” and “Beach Community" both deeper cuts from their extensive catalog. By the middle of the show tracks like “Christmas Card” had transformed the crowd into a sea of screaming fans, belting choruses back to the band while crowd surfers chaotically swam to the front of the venue. Joyce Manor closed out the night with “Falling Into It” to the roar of adoring fans before saying their farewells to the Vancouver crowd.
