Kygo Lights Up Rogers Arena on World Tour

Kygo’s world tour stop in Vancouver on October 10, 2024, was a memorable night of electronic music at the Rogers Arena. The Norwegian DJ and producer was joined by Zara Larsson and Vandelux, setting the stage for an unforgettable evening of tropical house beats and melodic rhythms.

The show started with an intimate piano performance but ramped up quickly with an explosive remix of “For Life” with the live vocals of Zak Abel. The two have clearly found their groove at this point in the tour and Zac’s stage presence is impossible to deny. The set list also gave the audience collaborations with Zara and a few classic covers, delivering a set that blended familiar tracks long time fans grew to love him for with new music appealing to a new audience.

Kygo has had a significant impact on the electronic music scene over his career and has helped popularize the tropical house genre. His breakout hit, “Firestone,” in 2014 showcased a lighter, melodic style that contrasted with the high-energy EDM dominating festivals at the time. This shift helped electronic music’s introduction and appeal to a broader audience with softer, more accessible sounds. Collaborations with mainstream artists such as Selena Gomez, Whitney Houston (posthumously), and Imagine Dragons further cemented his ability to bridge pop and dance music, influencing producers to experiment with gentler, piano-driven beats.

The crowd at Rogers Arena reflected the diversity of his music, ranging from longtime dance enthusiasts to casual listeners drawn by his crossover hits. His appeal clearly extends across age groups, thanks to both nostalgic reworks of classics like “Higher Love” and modern, radio-friendly collaborations. The live elements in his shows offer an occasion that resonates and makes the in-person experience of EDM something special.

The Thursday night performance in Vancouver is part of Kygo's first major world tour in six years, which spans North America and Europe, with other key cities including Los Angeles, Berlin, Amsterdam, and London. After more than a decade performing, Kygo’s growth as an artist gives a worthy night of spectacle.
